Back window frame work

I cleaned the whole frame and drilled holes at the end of the cracks to stop them from growing.

Then I got the back frame back into one piece.

Before: the lip all broken off!
 All back into one piece:
 Before: Corner busted out
After:  Corner back together:
Close up- it's a little rough, but the window will cover it.
Reinforced with fiberglass on the back:  It goes down under the lip about 1 inch.
This will be covered by the paneling I had to rip out! :)

Messy work!  I'm glad the gloves didn't melt.
I'm out of goo, so I have to make more and finish several more coats and the rest of the fiberglass matting.

  1. You might try putting a skim coat of "goo" on the fiberglass mesh, then you can shape it or cut it without getting all those frayed pieces of mesh everywhere. I like to use a small cake decorating spatula to rub my mesh into place and then you can use a brush if you prefer to finish the repair. Keep up the good work.
